Our Clinical Team Members

At Pendleton Academies, physicians and other doctorate level staff take a leadership role in the education and treatment of each child. For children needing psychiatric care, doctors hold reviews every week and our medical staff works hand-in-hand with a clinical team of professionals to diagnose and treat psychiatric problems and review medications. For young students who have never been properly diagnosed, determining the real cause of their problems and giving the right treatments can have dramatic results.

Regular review of each child's progress in his or her medication regimen, treatment, and academic progress keeps the clinical and educational team abreast with each child's care. Assigned clinical and educational team members review assessments, prescribe and monitor medications if needed, and order psychological, neuropsychological, speech, hearing, physical therapy, and other services. Dr. Conant-Norville

David Conant-Norville, M.D.
Dr. David Conant-Norville serves as our Medical Director, providing the overall direction for the treatment of all children at Pendleton Academies. He is a board certified child psychiatrist who serves as a clinical team leader and teacher during treatment reviews. He practices in Portland, Oregon and is on the faculty of the Oregon Health Sciences University. See more.

Robert A. George, M.D.
Dr. George is a child psychiatrist. He provides psychiatric overview and leadership during team reviews with children, families and clinical staff members. Dr. George is politically active in advocating for children’s mental health services, and also is a Professor of Clinical Psychiatry at Oregon Health Sciences University. See more.

Mary-Lynne Theel, M.D.
Dr. Theel is a child psychiatrist for Pendleton Academies and heads treatment reviews for all students on her caseload. Dr. Theel has worked for the last twenty years in child psychiatry in the Portland area and currently is also in private practice. See more.

Dr. Templeman and Dr. Pitkin

Terrel Templeman, Ph.D.
Dr. Terrel Templeman serves as a clinical supervisor and clinical psychologist. In this role, he administers cognitive and psychological testing, supervises the psychotherapists, and conducts weekly case reviews with the clinical teams. See more.

Gannett Pitkin, Ph.D.
Dr. Gannett Pitkin is Pendleton Academies’ Clinical Program Director. He is responsible for admissions for residential care and oversees and coordinates the entire clinical program, including clinical staff and treatment elements for all of our children. See more.
