Pendleton Academies is a small, independent, success oriented therapeutic school that is recognized for individualized instruction and character education, promoting an advanced curriculum toward eventual college preparation. Pendleton Academies supports the physical, social, and emotional well being of children who are in a critical period of their lives and provides children with counseling and psychotherapy to help them deal with emotional problems.
Pendleton Academies’ philosophy supports an "implicit curriculum," emphasizing adults teaching children how to behave by example of their own actions and attitudes, both in the classroom and at home. In the Pendleton Academies’ school environment, teachers create an extraordinarily safe and dynamic learning atmosphere in which students feel needed, listened to, and taken seriously. This is also true in therapeutic host homes. We teach children that everyone in the family is important and each member responsibly participates within the family. Such environments empower children to begin taking true responsibility for their lives.
